Capstone Overview Tutorial

The Architecture

Roles - People in your workforce fulfill a variety of Roles, and competency in roles is essential.
Performance Tasks - Tasks are performance expectations for members of your workforce in specific roles. For example, a geomatics technician might be expected to provide helicopter landing site maps as part of deployed operations.
Qualification Standards A higher-level curriculum design tool for Performance Objectives and associated standards.
Training Plans - DBV-Capstone helps you manage competencies that you want to achieve, using Performance Objectives and Enabling Objectives. Enabling Objectives simple or distinct skills or knowledge that are needed to in order to execute Performance Tasks. Each Enabling Objective can have several Learning Objectives, which in turn can be identified as supporting one or more Performance Tasks. For example, managing geographic coordinate systems is an essential skill in preparing helicoptor landing site maps. In this way, Capstone can audit the relationship between skills and knowledge obtained, relative to tasks the can be assigned.
Competency Ladders - knowledge and skills build upon other knowledge and skills - DBV-Capstone helps you build competency ladders between Enabling Objectives. Good training delivery should follow a sequence that builds the more advanced skills upon a foundation of basic skills. With a comprehensive competency foundation latter, not only can you order training optimally, Students and instructors can understand how the basic skills support the more advanced. Instructors can even preview learners' performances on previously aquired skills before they facilitate advanced skills development.
Delivery and Validation Programs - DBV-Capstone helps you lay out your training schedule while respecting the competency ladders and prerequisites. Administrators can dynamically audit the coverage that a delivery and validation project has for all elements of your Training Plan.
Valex's - a validation exercise is a task in the Delivery and Validation Program that links back to the Performance Objectives and Enabling Objectives in your Training Plan. Capstone helps you ensure all skills and knowledge are being validated in your training deliver, what levels of competence each learner is achieving, and ultimately each learner's readiness to execute the performance objectives associated with thier role in the work force
Smart Planning- baked into DBV-Capstone are checks that alert the training designer of improper design. For example, a Valex of a high-level function cannot come before the valex of its foundational design requirements. Audit reports such as "Enabling Objectives per Performance Task" help ensure complete coverage of your competency requirements. Audit trails recording design changes assist in managing versions.
